[Illinois Personal Injury Attorney Rahsaan Gordon]The Law Offices of Rahsaan A. Gordon, P.C. was founded by Attorney Rahsaan A. Gordon in 2004. Mr. Gordon is a lifelong resident of Chicago, having been born and raised in the Woodlawn, Englewood, and Roseland areas of Chicago's Southside. Mr. Gordon's mother is a lifelong resident of the Southside of Chicago, while his father was born and reared on the Westside of Chicago.

At an early age, Mr. Gordon was bused into the racially segregated, and all-White, Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago in order to attend a magnet public school known as Mark Sheridan Math and Science Academy. This elementary school possessed a rigorous academic environment and a diverse student body. Unfortunately, during the middle 1980's in Chicago, racism was alive and well and racial tensions were very high as Chicago prepared for its first Black mayor, Harold Washington. As a young child, and on a daily basis, Rahsaan Gordon was confronted with the ugly realities of bigotry and prejudice, as he merely sought to obtain an elementary school education. Experiences such as these would provide the catalyst for Mr. Gordon's decision to embark in a career in the law.

Mr. Gordon attended Whitney M. Young Magnet High-School located on Chicago's Westside, which has long been regarded as one of the premier public high-schools in America. After graduating from Whitney M. Young High-School, Mr. Gordon attended Morehouse College, in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Upon graduating from Morehouse College, Mr. Gordon received a full-scholarship to study law at the University of Iowa's School of Law, located in Iowa City, Iowa. While in law school, Mr. Gordon worked as a law clerk at Meachum, Spahr, Hastzo, and Hittle, a Chicago insurance defense litigation law firm; the Illinois Attorney General's Office, Civil Rights Division; and Davis & Kelthau, LLC, a full-service civil and commercial litigation firm.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Gordon accepted a position at the newly formed plaintiff's personal injury litigation law firm, Cochran, Cherry, Givens, Smith & Montgomery. This national litigation firm was founded by legendary trial attorneys Johnnie L. Cochran and James D. Montgomery. Fortunate to have began his legal career at the nation's largest plaintiff's law firm, Mr. Gordon began working on multi-million dollar cases immediately after graduating from law school. Some of the cases to which Mr. Gordon contributed his legal talents, while at the Cochran Firm, resulted in many multi-million settlements and/or verdicts, including a settlement on the eve of trial for $18,000,000. This case involved the City of Chicago and its police department's role in the shooting death of an unarmed Black motorist named LaTanya Haggerty.

Later, Mr. Gordon accepted a position at one of Chicago's largest law firms, Tressler, Soderstrom, Maloney and Priess, a full-service civil defense and commercial litigation law firm. At this firm, Mr. Gordon concentrated his practice entirely in the areas of civil litigation and commercial litigation, working on cases involving catastrophic personal injuries, including many wrongful death matters. In his role at this firm, Mr. Gordon's clients included international insurance companies, construction companies, national trucking companies, landowners, and individuals.

In 2004, Rahsaan A. Gordon founded the Law Offices of Rahsaan A. Gordon, P.C. Currently, it is regarded as one of Chicago's premier boutique civil litigation firms, specializing in personal injury law.
